Devastating Rock Music
from Southern California
Open Hand adds a touch of sweetness to our sour, mundane life with the soon to be released album "Honey" from Anodyne Records.
Recently mastered, the new material is a beautifully balanced piece of resounding character from a unit that seems to just slightly overstep the boundaries of original expectation.
Justin started the band in '99 and carries an ever-changing list of members. Today, the band is consistently four necessary musical components and a multitude of contributing vocals.
Generally, Open Hand is your modern alt/rock band with stony guitars and a heavy beat. But you can expect to hear playful female vocals, pounding German melodies, and a dollop of rap for good measure in "Honey". If you're a fan, then you may be aware of the tremendous impact of the Open Hand sound and their ability to elaborate and produce progressive music with a wide range of talented artists. Your next, or first introduction to this new music will include tracks in collaboration with: Christopher "Kid" Reid of the hip-hop sensation Kid n' Play and Matt Talbot from the Illinois rock band Hum.
This album opens up a market beyond the "rock" genre and promises to deliver an eclectic range of voices and structure.
Taking the show on the road is goal #1 and Open Hand is no stranger to that world. While on Trustkill, their back album "You and Me" generated a hefty fan base, pushing over 45,000 units touring with major acts such as: My Chemical Romance, Glassjaw, Poison the Well, and CKY.
Upon delivery of "Honey," watch for show dates and developing tours leading up to the March release.
This time around, Open Hand is geared to take on any stage, reach out to new audiences, and dominate the scene with their new and original take on Southern California rock.
